The Subdivide Filter (which utilizes vtkLinearSubdivisionFilter) iteratively divides triangles into four smaller triangles. The new points are generated linearly so that the output surface matches the input surface.
- First the user selects the data they wish to operate on from the Selection Window. It will be highlighted when this occurs.
- The user can then select Filter->Alphabetical->Subdivide from the main menu
- The Num. Divisions slider sets the number of subdivisions of the input triangle. The user can modify the number of subdivisions between one and four.
- The Apply button must be pressed before any subdivisions will be generated.
An error will occur if the input data set is polygonal. In this case, first use the Triangulate filter, and then apply the Subdivide Filter.
